New Orleans, a taste of the south
Thursday, August 11th, 2011My recent architectural photo shoot took me back to New Orleans for my third trip there. I felt like I was in an episode of Treme the HBO show about post Katrina New Orleans. The town is still rebuilding, but rocking as usual. The French Quarter and Bourbon Street are packed with people even on off nights.
Tripping around the city shows many shops still closed and rebuilding.
I was actually there to work and take some new advertising photos for the House of Blues, one of the coolest venues in town. One night after work the crew of House came in to the private Foundation Room Club for their after wrap party dinner. House of Blues is a prime meeting and filming area and is seen on Treme along with the cool new music scene on Frenchman Street at clubs like Snug Harbor and the Spotted Cat. The House of Blues is still a killer place to hang out for a southern style meal and cold Abita Strawberry Lager.
