Diving Beautiful Maui

Friday, March 2nd, 2018

I am pretty much naked without one of my cameras, so it would figure that when I go diving in exotic places I take my camera with me. In this case, a special 20.5mp camera in an underwater housing with a 2500 lumen light. The quality is stunning!!

The Sea Turtles in Maui are of course protected so they are not afraid and don’t mind you swimming with them if you keep your distance. This one almost swam into me as did another while I was diving at Black Rock Reef in Kaanapali, Maui. The reef is full of sealife life of all kinds. Other places like Molokini, a crescent shape mini island, have stunning clear water with the coral sides dropping off the island steeply and ending up a smooth sand bottom at the edge.

I mainly Freedive and can go to about 40′ down on a good day. When I can’t grab interesting sealife, I look for underwater landscapes to shoot with the wide angle lens.
